Good reference on the history of Belgian saisons and French bieres du garde and the current traditions of farmhouse ales from the region.

I stormed through this book before a saison-themed homebrew weekend, and while not an explicit guide to brewing farmhouse ales, it provided a good deal of insight into the beers themselves and greatly added to the experience; I felt like I was part of a historic tradition and not just a dude brewing beer on his back porch.

Could go off on tangent of how I brew only Farmhouse ales because of my family's farming history and purchased this to have deeper understanding of the style.
