Better than the average monkey
I first read this book as an undergrad economist, well over 10 years ago now.
Deirdre is correct about the misuse of significance levels
McCloskey's book deserves to be read because of the original material in her book dealing with the misuse, misapplication and misinterpretation of both statistical significance and economic significance(see pp.
relativism reborn...yet again.
The \"hermeneutics\" of thinkers like McClosky, Rorty, and even some of those 'austrian' economists over at GMU is certainly not a new creed.
