Some of the stories are interesting but the collection on a whole is disjointed to read and some stories are quite bland..

This is a compendium of stories, but all are fantastic.

There are a few good sea tales by well known authors in this book, but overall, it's a disappointment for those accustomed to adventure stories like O'Brian's Aubrey series, Tristan Jones tales and the like.

The book was a decent book to read on a long trip, but I had great difficulty in understanding how these stories qualify as the \"greatest sailing stories ever told\".
