Great "Titan", wide, wide dynamic range!
This is the Mahler to enjoy with a good stereo at full blast.
Abbado is at an inspirational high--a Titan that soars above the clouds
Claudio Abbado is a naturally modest individual, not the kind of conductor that musicians fear.
Useless 'Editorial Review'
A handful of lines of unqualified, seemingly ignorant comment barely qualifies as a 'review', and my guess is that most people will ignore it.
Ignore brain dead opinions of Hurwitz. An Abbado work in progress
The peevish and snotty broadsides by ubiquitous \"expert\" David Hurwitz need to be relegated to the trash heap like the waste product it is.
Clownishly foolish Amazon review aside, this record does leave something to be desired
While the Amazon review by a Mr.
Second Movement
Concerning the tempo fluctuation at the beginning of the 2nd movement, I suggest checking the score, with a metronome in hand.
Good but not impressive
In partial agreement with Mr.
Great Mahler From Abbado And The Berliners
Claudio Abbado is fantastic Mahler conductor.
Wonderful live performance balanced against audience noise
The live performance is wonderful, the recording is fine, I only wish I didn't hear the occasional rustle or cough in the audience..
Abbado's recording is a must have!
What more can be said - no one could equal vonKarijan with the BPO, but his understudy did a magnificent job with \"Titan\" in his debut with Berliner.
